PTE Explores new shores, expands operations to Nepal
Pearson has announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with the Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN) to promote PTE Academic, its secure English language test, throughout the country. The partnership will ensure that students applying to study abroad have access to a globally accepted, fast and reliable test.
ECAN is Nepal’s largest education association with a membership network of over 300 student recruitment agents and consultants. As part of the collaboration, Pearson will be providing training for all teachers and counsellors of ECAN agents and will be working closely with ECAN to support the promotion of the test through its network and recruitment events. ECAN’s office will act as the liaison office for Pearson Language Testing in Nepal.
Pearson offers ECAN members a more customer-focused approach to testing with flexible test sessions and faster results. Test takers can register for a test just 24 hours in advance and receive their scores typically within five business days. Therefore, an entire testing process can be completed within just seven days. This speed enables students to meet their institution and visa application deadlines quickly.
Two years after entering the market, PTE Academic scores are accepted for admissions by almost 3000 programs. It is recognised and trusted by leading universities, including London Business School, Harvard University and Yale University, as well as the UK Border Agency (UKBA) and the Australian Department for Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) for student visas.
Rajendra Baral, President, ECAN, said: “We are excited about this partnership. It gives ECAN an opportunity to partner with the world’s leading education organisation and this move will benefit all our members.”
