International English Language Testing System(IELTS) tests the complete range of english language skills,which anyone might require when studying or training with english as the medium of communication. IELTS is accepted by most Australian, British, Canadian, Irish, New Zealand and South African academic institutions, by many academic institutions in the United States, and also by various professional organizations.

Are there different types of tests under IELTS?


Yes, IELTS is of basically two types.

Candidates may choose either the Academic Module or the General Training Module:

  • The Academic Module is intended for those who wish to enroll in universities and other institutions of higher education.
  • The General Training Module is intended for those who plan to undertake non-academic training ,or to gain work experience, or for immigration purposes.
Who conducts this test?

The IELTS test is jointly conducted by three organizations.
  • University of Cambridge(ESOL Examinations).
  • British Council.
  • IDP Educational body,Australia.
What does IELTS actually test?

This test tests students for four fundamental English Language skills.
  • Listening
  • Reading
  • Speaking
  • Writing
Who can take this test?
  • Students who want to study in UK,Australia,New Zealand,Canada and the US.
  • Medical professionals planning to work or study in UK,Canada and the US.
  • People who plan to emigrate to Canada,Australia and New Zealand.
