ETS Reports Solid Growth for TOEFL® Volumes in France

Educational Testing Service (ETS) announced an 8 percent increase in the number of French TOEFL iBT test takers for 2011 compared to the previous year.

The number of institutions accepting TOEFL scores from French students also increased to over8,500 worldwide in more than 130 countries. Paris- Sorbonne University and SKEMA Business School in France are part of the rapidly growing number of colleges and institutions internationally recognizing the TOEFL test as an approved assessment to demonstrate English proficiency for student applicants. The TOEFL test continues to be the most widely accepted English-language assessment used for undergraduate and graduate admissions purposes, with significantly more institutions recognizing the TOEFL test than any other English-language assessment.

"More and more students in France and around the world are choosing to take the TOEFL test," commented David Hunt, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ETS’s Global Division. "Students recognize the convenience of having to take only one English-language assessment that is accepted at nearly every higher education institution including those in Spain, the U.K., Australia, and the United States."

To assist the significant number of French test takers, ETS has developed new resources including:
