Mukesh Ambani's term as IIM-B chaiman extended

Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, has been reappointed the chairman of the board of governors of IIM-Bangalore.
The term of one of the richest men in India was to end this month and the HRD ministry’s decision means he’ll head the B-school’s top decision-making body till 2015.

His appointment comes soon after the decision to reduce the size of the board from existing 26 to 16 members.
Besides supervising IIM-B’s expansion plans in the wake of the 27% reservation for OBC s ,Ambani is also spearheading the institute’s fund raising. He has offered to pay the salary of international faculty, besides sponsoring a Stanford Graduate School of Business and IIM-B student exchange programme.
